Overview

About Quick Lime

Quick lime — calcium oxide — is produced by calcining high-grade limestone in our kilns at Borunda, Rajasthan. It is the workhorse reagent of heavy industry: a flux in steelmaking, a neutralising agent in chemical processing, a stabiliser in road and soil works, and a disinfectant in water treatment.

Deshwali Minerals supplies quick lime in lump and graded fractions, matched to the feed system it has to run through. Every consignment is drawn from a controlled burn and released against the size and reactivity band agreed at the time of order, so what arrives on site behaves the way your process expects.

Applications

Where Quick Lime is used

The duty determines the grade. These are the applications this product is technically suited to.

  • 01Fluxing agent in steel and ferro-alloy melting
  • 02Neutralisation of acidic effluent and process streams
  • 03Soil stabilisation for roads, embankments and sub-grades
  • 04Water and wastewater disinfection and pH correction
  • 05Environmental remediation and sludge conditioning
Handling

Packing, storage and transport

Lime degrades on contact with moisture and air. How it is packed and stored is a technical decision, not a cosmetic one.

Packing

  • 10 kg bags
  • 40 kg bags
  • Jumbo bags
  • Loose / bulk tipper

Recommended against transit distance and destination conditions.

Storage

  • Store in a dry, covered, well-ventilated area, clear of the ground.
  • Keep sealed until use — quick lime reacts with atmospheric moisture and carbon dioxide, losing available lime over time.
  • Rotate stock; use oldest consignments first.

Transport

  • Dispatched in covered trucks or bulk tippers from Borunda, Jodhpur.
  • Jumbo bags palletised or slung; bagged goods stacked and sheeted.
  • Containerised loading available for export consignments.

Safety

  • Quick lime is caustic and reacts exothermically with water.
  • Handle with gloves, goggles and dust protection.
  • Refer to the Safety Data Sheet before handling. [SDS — TO BE SUPPLIED BY COMPANY]
