Overview

About Hydrated Lime

Hydrated lime — calcium hydroxide — is produced by slaking quick lime under controlled water addition. The result is a dry, stable powder that delivers alkalinity without the heat of reaction and the handling constraints of quick lime, which makes it the practical choice wherever material is dosed by hand or stored on an open site.

It is used across water treatment, effluent neutralisation, construction, and soil correction. Deshwali Minerals produces hydrated lime alongside its quick lime lines at Borunda, from the same controlled limestone feed.

Applications

Where Hydrated Lime is used

The duty determines the grade. These are the applications this product is technically suited to.

  • 01Drinking water and wastewater treatment
  • 02Effluent neutralisation and heavy metal precipitation
  • 03Construction — mortars, plasters and stabilised sub-bases
  • 04Agricultural soil pH correction
  • 05Flue gas treatment and pollution control
Handling

Packing, storage and transport

Lime degrades on contact with moisture and air. How it is packed and stored is a technical decision, not a cosmetic one.

Packing

  • 10 kg bags
  • 40 kg bags
  • Jumbo bags

Recommended against transit distance and destination conditions.

Storage

  • Store in a dry, covered area on pallets, clear of the ground.
  • Keep bags sealed — prolonged air exposure causes carbonation and loss of available lime.
  • Rotate stock; use oldest consignments first.

Transport

  • Bagged and jumbo bag despatch from Borunda, Jodhpur.
  • Palletised and sheeted loading for road transport.
  • Containerised loading available for export consignments.

Safety

  • Alkaline and irritant to skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
  • Use gloves, goggles and dust protection.
  • Refer to the Safety Data Sheet before handling. [SDS — TO BE SUPPLIED BY COMPANY]
